Unleash Your Creativity: Your Path to National Recognition Begins Here!

Showcase Your Portfolio: What to Submit

To enter this prestigious competition, aspiring designers are invited to submit a concise portfolio of their work. This should include 4 to 8 high-quality photographs that capture the essence of your design style. Accompanying these visuals, a compelling 250-word statement is required, detailing why you believe you possess the skills and vision to be selected as House & Home's next design sensation.

Technical Specifications for Your Submission

Ensure your submitted images meet the specified technical requirements for consideration. Each photograph must be in either .png or .jpeg format, with individual file sizes not exceeding 1MB. The cumulative size of all submitted files should remain under 8MB. Please note that any images generated using artificial intelligence will not be accepted as part of your entry.

Who Can Apply: Eligibility Criteria

The competition welcomes entries from all Canadian citizens and permanent residents who have reached the age of majority in their respective province or territory. Candidates must demonstrate practical experience by having completed at least one full room in a residential project. Furthermore, applicants should possess a formal educational background from an accredited university or college design program, or have gained professional experience through an apprenticeship or employment with an interior designer, stylist, or decorator in the fields of interior design or fashion. A key criterion is that entrants must not have had more than one room previously featured in a national magazine or newspaper.

Submitting Your Application: The Process

The application process is streamlined for your convenience. You will be asked to provide your full name, the name of your design firm, your email address, and your complete residential address, including city, province, and postal code. In addition to your descriptive statement, you will upload your required design images directly through the submission portal. A maximum of eight images can be uploaded, with at least four being mandatory.

Important Dates and Agreements

Before finalizing your submission, all applicants are required to review and agree to the comprehensive Terms & Conditions of the contest.
