Kelly Wearstler and H&M Home Collaborate on Milan Design Week Exhibition

A notable partnership between acclaimed designer Kelly Wearstler and retail giant H&M Home is poised to introduce a unique collection of home furnishings. This exciting collaboration will be unveiled during Milan Design Week, featuring an elaborate installation housed within the exquisite Palazzo Acerbi, a 17th-century baroque palace. This event signifies a significant milestone for both parties, marking Wearstler's debut exhibition in Milan and H&M Home's first venture into the renowned design week.

The collection will encompass 29 distinct pieces, with 13 key designs prominently displayed at the Palazzo Acerbi. Crafted from diverse materials such as textiles, wood, metal, ceramics, and marble, these items will become globally available in 40 countries starting in September. Wearstler expressed her enthusiasm for reaching a broader demographic through this partnership, embracing the dual appeal of catering to both high-end collectors and a wider, more accessible audience. For the Milan installation, Studio Boum assisted Wearstler in reimagining the palace's interior to complement the collection's themes of daily rituals and modular design, creating a striking contrast between the palazzo's historic ornate frescoes and the contemporary, geometric aesthetic of the new line. This collaboration is particularly noteworthy as it represents H&M Home's first foray into larger furniture pieces developed with a designer, including a versatile modular chair that transforms into a sofa, 'caged' lamps, and a unique trompe l'oeil vase. H&M Home's head of design and creative, Evelina Kravaev-Söderberg, highlighted Wearstler's ambitious approach and the challenge and opportunity of translating this vision into a cohesive furniture and lighting collection with a modular design philosophy.

The convergence of Kelly Wearstler's design expertise with H&M Home's extensive reach demonstrates a powerful synergy in the world of interior design, making high-quality, artfully crafted pieces more accessible to a global audience. This initiative encourages a fresh perspective on home aesthetics, promoting both individual expression and functional versatility in everyday living spaces.
