A Pasadena Estate Featured in 'Dynasty' Enters the Market for $45 Million

The illustrious Arden Villa in Pasadena, famously recognized for its role in the classic 1980s drama series 'Dynasty,' is now on the market for an impressive $45 million. This magnificent property, once the backdrop for iconic television scenes, has been meticulously restored and updated, offering a blend of historical charm and contemporary luxury. Its listing presents a unique opportunity to acquire a piece of Hollywood history, poised to potentially set a new sales record in the affluent city of Pasadena.

This grand Palladian-style residence, commissioned in the early 20th century by mining magnate William Kennon Jewett and designed by the esteemed architects Sylvanus Marston and Garrett Van Pelt, boasts a rich heritage. Spanning nearly three acres, the estate is privately situated behind tall hedges and a long, gated driveway. In 2019, 'Avengers: Endgame' co-director Anthony Russo and his spouse, actress and producer Ann Russo, acquired the property for $15.6 million. Just a year later, Pasadena officially recognized its historical significance by designating it a Historic Monument. Beyond 'Dynasty,' Arden Villa has served as a filming location for numerous productions, including 'Terms of Endearment,' 'Billy Madison,' 'Knight Rider,' and the music video for Oasis's hit song 'Don't Look Back in Anger.'

Under the Russos' ownership, the estate underwent extensive renovations in collaboration with Clements Design, enhancing its grandeur while preserving its historical integrity. The entire complex encompasses more than 18,500 square feet, featuring eight bedrooms and thirteen bathrooms. The main residence alone spans approximately 16,000 square feet, offering formal living and dining areas, a state-of-the-art modernized kitchen equipped with premium appliances, and a convenient walk-in pantry. High-end amenities include a private gym, a game room, a dedicated movie theater, and a sophisticated wine cellar. Additionally, a detached mid-century guesthouse, added in the 1940s and measuring around 2,400 square feet, provides its own swimming pool and an independent gated entrance.

The estate's outdoor features are equally impressive. The famed lily pond, an integral part of its 'Dynasty' legacy, is situated beyond the primary swimming pool and spa area, which is complemented by a fireplace and a dedicated pool house. The meticulously landscaped grounds also include a charming greenhouse and a tennis court, complete with a pergola-shaded viewing area, offering ample space for recreation and relaxation amidst lush surroundings.

The Arden Villa, an estate with a rich cinematic past and meticulously preserved luxury, stands as a testament to timeless elegance and modern refinement. Its sale signifies a notable event in the real estate market, reflecting both its historical value and the comprehensive updates undertaken by its recent owners, Anthony and Ann Russo, as they embark on new life chapters.
